Our Team
A team approach to
patient-centred care
Patient-centred care is at the heart of Kootenay Medical Centre. We aim to provide care that is respectful and responsive to each patient’s individual needs, values and preferences, with patients actively involved in decisions about their own health.
Our eight family physicians are well-rounded medical generalists who provide comprehensive primary care across all ages and stages of life. From preventive care and minor injuries to the diagnosis and ongoing management of more complex health concerns, your family physician is often your first point of contact within the healthcare system.
The relationship between patient and physician remains central to family medicine. Our physicians see themselves as partners in their patients’ care, combining their medical expertise with each patient’s own knowledge, priorities and goals. They also continually update their knowledge and skills so that current evidence and medical practice inform the care they provide.
